U6 Co-Ed Summer Soccer

U6 Summer Soccer is for children that will turn 5 or 6 years this year. You DO NOT need to be a Batavia resident to participate. Our young players will be playing 4v4 on a small pitch (soccer field) with a size 3 ball, small goals, no goalkeeper, no throw-ins and no corner kicks.  Each session is 1/2 skills development and 1/2 scrimmage.  There is a round-robin tournament at the end of the season.

Although this may not seem like 'real' soccer you should be content in the knowledge that this game format is best suited to a child's developmental needs at this age.

In a 4v4 scrimmage, the young player is getting plenty of touches of the ball, which is the best way to develop their skills. They are feeling confident and successful as it is easier to score goals, beat a player and pass to a teammate, this also breeds a love of the game, a desire to play more and a confidence to try new things. They are also learning the basic principles of the game by controlling and dribbling the ball, trying to pass to a teammate, and scoring.

Our goal is to instill a love for the game in our young players. We build pride in each individual player, our teams, and our club. We do our best to foster an environment that allows each player to experience the thrill of healthy competition, participation, and the challenge of improvement.

All coaches are volunteers, without whom this program would not work!  In order to support our volunteer coaches, we provide a free coaching clinic to help get our coaches started with their season.
